Blog #126: Fellow Dorcus Acheng with Spark MicroGrants

0

Dorcus Acheng completed her 1-year assignment as an AllPeopleBeHappy Fellow at the end of November 2017.  Dorcus has since been hired by Spark MicroGrants.  She worked with Spark MicroGrants in the Monitoring and Evaluation (M/E) of the Spark projects undertaken by the village communities in northern Uganda.  “Over the past year I have collected ‘most significant’ change data across different Spark communities.  Responses so far shows clear benefits to participants, and that many lives have changed for the better.  For numerous communities, the major life-changing moment was when they received training from the Spark facilitators.  These skills remain long-term, allowing communities to apply them to other areas of their lives…  I spend 60 percent of my time interacting with communities, conducting interviews and data collection.  Via my facilitation, villages are able to oversee their own data collection, and make more informed decisions about how to improve their communities.”
